SAS - logoThe Slovak Architects Society had been established as a voluntary, social, cultural and artistic association of the well-wishers of the architecture, with the aim to make the architecture more popular, to disseminate the information on architektur to the public and to participate on the creation of an integrated architectural culture.

The site of the SAS is placed on Panska Street 15 in Bratislava, more than 1 500 members of SAS are organized due to the regional and professional competence in more than 40 associations.

SAS is member of UIA, works actively in Docomomo, ISOcarp, IFHP, EUROPAN, IFLA, ICOMOS a i., SAS has a good cooperation with the faculties of architecture or with faculties with similar orientation. The monthly Forum of Architecture (Forum architektury) informs on activities in the branche, in the journal Project (Projekt) the scene of the architecture is presented, so as in a Slovak revue of architecture.

SAS awards every year the prize of Emil Belluš for the life-work, the prestige prize of Dušan Jurkovič for the best realized project, the prize of Jozef Lacko for the best diploma project and the prize of Martin Kusý for the work in the field of research, history, theory and critics of architecture, for the presentation in professional journals and for the presentation of the architecture in media.

The awarded works of the laureates are exposed with other expositions at the periodical exhibitions in the Galery of Architecture SAS in Bratislava, Exhibition room of Emil Belluš in Banská Bystrica and in the regional cultural centres.
