Golden Threads - About

Mary and Elaine Hong of the Hop Sing store in Tenterfield with Eileen and Betty Wong when they arrived from China in 1945. (Private collection)Chinese-Australians have played an important part in our state and national history. Their contributions are remembered through objects, sites, people and stories. By exploring the Chinese presence in parts of regional NSW, the Golden Threads Project acknowledges and celebrates the work of local museums and Chinese-Australians in collecting and presenting our Chinese history.

The Project also invites you to think about and share the Chinese contribution to your locality and to your family and community histories. There are many more stories, sites, objects and people.
